Ό,τι νάνε, whatever it is
Not every celebration has a name on a party-supplies shelf. In Cyprus we gather for all sorts of reasons: a name day that fills the house, a housewarming, a cousin back from abroad, the end of the harvest, a school reunion twenty years on, a bachelor or bachelorette night, a send-off before someone moves away. These gatherings are often the most fun, and the photos from them are the most likely to get lost.
“Oti nane” is our name for all of them. If people get together and take photos on their phones, Kukuva gives them one place to put those photos.
How it works
Create an event, give it a name and a date, and share the QR code or the link. Guests scan or tap and add photos, videos and written messages from their phones. No app, no sign-up. Afterwards everyone can see everything, and you can download it all.
You don’t need to print anything for a small gathering. Send the link in the WhatsApp group and you are done. For a bigger crowd, put a poster by the door and a TV with the live photo wall in the corner.
Ideas
- Name days. Open house all day, guests coming and going. Send the link in the morning and watch the album grow.
- Housewarmings. Ask guests to photograph their favourite corner of the new home.
- Reunions. Ask everyone to upload one old photo and one new one, then put them on the wall.
- Bachelor and bachelorette parties. Keep it among friends. The album is unlisted, and on Pro you can add a password.
- Village feasts and festivals. One album for the whole community, from the morning service to the evening music.
- Farewells. Collect photos and written messages as a gift for the person leaving.
Tips
- On Free, uploads are open for 3 hours from the start time. For an all-day gathering, Plus keeps uploads open for 9 days.
- Add a couple of photo challenges to break the ice with guests who don’t know each other.
- Turn off the name box if you want people to share more freely.
Which package fits
Free covers most small gatherings: 150 uploads, unlimited guests and the live photo wall. Plus (€49) is for bigger or longer events, with original quality and download all. Pro (€99) is for large public gatherings that need unlimited uploads and approval before anything shows.
